Snow and Ice

Snow outside the Campus Center.

It's 12 degrees fahrenheit outside, which is apparently -11 degrees Celcius. Brrrrrrr.

Dan and I have been having lunch with a girl called Sarah from our Academic Writing class and her group of friends. They're very cool people. One of the things I like most about this place is the way, even now, I still seem to meet new people all the time. The ballroom dancing has been a cool new experience. This week I went to a swing dance over at Cornell, the other University in the city of Ithaca, which was fun.

Next weekend Kevin, Dan and I are going to New Hampshire to visit Kevin's girlfriend at the University of New Hampshire. It's about a 6 and a half hour drive... but it's going to be fun. I can feel it. I'll take pictures.
Jarhead was also playing at the cinema here, so I went to see that again.

Zack and Kevin watching Late Night with Conan O'Brien. You can click on the photos now to see a full size version.

Zack pretends to push this van over a cliff...

Zack and I decided to climb the hill behind the towers again, and go into the woods... I know that's where they dwell, but I really wanted to go to the towns to get medicines...

East Tower!

Icicles on a BMW, with West Tower in the background. My room is in the very top left corner.

Close-up of the icicles!

I think this is Kevin...

Freshman parking lot. I think this is my favorite picture from all these.

I had the Memphis blues again...

Snow. The full-size version of this looks pretty good.

Crazy American Fact #16: Every state has a nickname. Some of them seem fairly sensible. Maine is 'The Pine Tree State', Arizona is 'The Grand Canyon State' and New York is 'The Empire State'. Others are a little bit weirder... Wisconsin is 'The Badger State', Missouri is 'The Show-Me State' and New Mexico is known as the 'Land of Enchantment'. Source.

Nice to see you're doing well Haldane and I hope the rest of the year treats you well. I'm just using this comment box as a shameless way of plugging my radio show on Burn FM (Brum uni station) at http://students.bugs.bham.ac.uk/burnfm/ on Sat nights from 8pm UK time starting this friday and ending a month later. It is one hour of trance and dance mixed with a bit of banter which often conists of insults thrown in the general direction of Coldplay but tune in and see for yourself if 1.u want to see if trance is worth checking out
2. you think trance is the way forward for music and want to show your support
